Skift: TripActions a Leader in Major Corporate Travel Trends

The TripActions Team

After TripActions raised $51 million in Series B funding earlier this March, it didn’t take long for news outlets to catch wind.

Skift, a media company focused on the travel industry, attributed TripActions’ rapid growth and success to an increasingly popular traveler-centric approach on business travel management.

According to Skift, TripActions direct-to-consumer model disrupts the norm with next-generation technology, behavior incentives and global support that continues to gain significant momentum in the travel industry in 2018. “If TripActions and its similar startup peers gain traction in the mid-market, travel management companies like American Express Global Business Travel and Carlson Wagonlit may face erosion of their business…” Sean O-Neill of Skift shared.

It’s clear TripActions has already begun shifting the corporate travel industry tide with a 97% traveler adoption rate, which Skift said is “well above the corporate travel industry average”, and an impressive 100% customer retention rate for 18 months counting. Securing $51 million in Series B along with imminent plans to expand offices in London, New York, APAC and Eurozone certainly helps support that notion.

Skift also went on to point out areas in which TripActions could face obstacles in the future, noting previous attempts and failures from past startups to compete with legacy travel giants. Where Skift ended their scope, however, was in detailing the ways in which previous startups and other peer companies have failed (and continue to fail) to meet the needs of businesses and their travelers. For many of these travel startups, their services either fail to align with and support consumer demands or only provide partial solutions to a much larger travel problem. Both have proven to be absolute necessities in the corporate travel space.

That’s where TripActions changes the game. At TripActions, we believe nothing can truly replace the value of being there in-person. So we built an end-to-end travel solution that empowers travelers to focus on the reason for their trip, and not the details of the trip itself. By providing clients with an easy-to-use platform that makes booking a trip for travelers a cinch with unprecedented proactive customer support, options travelers actually want, and an incentive program that gives employees a reason to care about company money, it’s no coincidence that travelers love us and give TripActions a 97% satisfaction rating.
