Navan is today announcing the promotion of Grant McGrail to the role of Chief Revenue Officer of Navan. In this expanded role, he will now oversee the entire sales and customer success organizations across the company’s global footprint.

Before Navan

McGrail’s pedigree includes a series of leadership roles across several successful growth-stage companies; prior to joining Navan in 2020, he was the CRO at Benefix, the SVP of Global Enterprise at WeWork, and a sales leader at NetSuite.

McGrail's Approach

McGrail adopts the role with an eye on balancing a modern, high-growth approach to sales with the traditional discipline of processes and rigor. This combination comes at an opportune time for Navan, as booking volumes have surged 600% year-over-year while the volume of travel budget under management has grown 67% to nearly $6B across 7,500 customers.

His New Focus

Under McGrail’s stewardship, the company is emerging from the pandemic as the leading player in the modern travel, corporate card, and expense management industry. That runway, combined with a renewed momentum behind travel bookings and expense transactions this year, has uniquely positioned the company for record growth and revenue.

Expansion into Europe, anchored by the recent acquisitions of Comtravo and Reed & Mackay, will be a key area of focus for the revenue organization under McGrail’s leadership. The team will also refocus on segments, making the technology more accessible to businesses of all sizes while maintaining focus on enterprise prospects and customers such as Heineken, Thomson Reuters, and Shopify.

“Grant represents the next generation of SaaS sales leaders,” says Ariel Cohen, Navan CEO. “He has the unique ability to combine the disciplined maturity required to win the biggest enterprise on the planet with the modern, agile methods necessary for sustained hypergrowth. I couldn’t think of a leader better equipped to guide Navan as we modernize the entire T&E market.”
