TripActions 2017: A Year in Review

As we welcome the new year, TripActions has a lot of incredible milestones to celebrate. Most importantly, we want to pop the cork for our customers and travelers who continue to support our mission to deliver the best business travel experience.

2017 was a big year as we doubled our team and welcomed incredible customers like Box, OpenGov, Castlight Health and Applause to the TripActions family. As of December 2017, TripActions grew its customer base by 8x year-over-year and saw its bookings grow 12x year-over-year.

To continue providing the best travel content for our customers, we announced partnerships with Expedia and Priceline alongside the completion of our Series A round led by Arif Janmohamed of Lightspeed Venture Partners with participation by Oren Zeev of Zeev Ventures.

Lev W.
After spending a week in the desert at Burning Man in California, Lev needed some much needed decompression time in Las Vegas before going back to work (sounds too good to be true!). Upon leaving The Playa, he realized he’d be arriving a day early and reached out to our team for help.

“My friend and I had to contact customer support (me with TripActions, him with a different provider) to add an extra night. It took him three hours with dozens of phone calls, while it took me six messages in a comfortable chat client within the app - two of them were ‘thank yous’,” said Lev.

Josh K.
Josh, a true road warrior, experienced what we all dread - a flight cancellation. "It was complete chaos, people were screaming at the gate agents and we sat on the tarmac for over four hours," explained Josh.

Instead of standing in what seemed like an endless line, Josh calmly chatted with one of our travel specialists named Thelma. She secured Josh a seat on the next flight out, made sure his bags would travel with him and cheered him on while he ran through the terminal.

Brady J.
We’ve been there. That anxious decision of picking non-refundable vs. refundable. Unfortunately, Brady had picked a non-refundable hotel but his travel plans had changed. He chatted our traveler support team thinking there was no way to get his money back. Instead, our travel specialist Krizia went above and beyond.

After reaching out to the hotel and getting Brady a full refund, he said "Did you work miracles? You are pretty freaking awesome!" We do our best, every time!
