TripActions Academy: Course Four Explores Policy Settings
The most important step in onboarding new corporate travel and expense management software is ensuring that your account deployment is fully optimized to meet the goals of your company’s specific T&E program. In Course 4 of the TripActions Academy, we introduce the specifics of what’s possible with the TripActions platform and how to establish basic policy settings for even the most particular program.
What is the TripActions Academy? It is a free series of courses that corporate travel program administrators can take to strengthen their foundation of corporate travel and expense management skills, learn best practices, and bring new focus to their organization’s corporate T&E program. Inside Course 4
Course 4 is an introduction into TripActions and the many ways in which the travel and expense management platform gives you more control to craft and implement a custom travel policy. The course starts by outlining how to build back-end tiered travel policies that create cost savings by defining spend for different groups of employees such as executives or directors.
The course then reviews approval policies and how to select and enforce a specific approval policy, as well as how best to communicate it to the traveler. The course then introduces dynamic policy — a unique TripActions tool that enables travel managers to set price caps as a function of market conditions and further save companies money.
Now that users have an idea of basic policy settings, the course shows how those police settings work when applied to flight, hotel, and rental car bookings. Lastly, the course shows program administrators how to restrict travel to certain locations in situations such as COVID-19 with a new feature introduced in 2020.
