We’ve accomplished incredible feats as a company in the past year, but none makes as proud as being a part of an organization that not only sets a new precedent in the market but backs it up with real action.
TripActions made huge advancements and drove significant innovation throughout 2019. Through our Next Generation Storefront (NGS) deployment, our New Distribution Capability (NDC) direct connections with United Airlines, Southwest Airlines and Lufthansa Group, our in-app self serve flight change functionality and more, we continued to disrupt the industry to deliver the best experience in business travel for our users.
With each and every innovation, we've led the industry by our example as a mission-driven company and culture, doing what's best for our users – all of them.
Increasingly throughout 2019, our users told us of their concerns around the impact of their business travel on the environment. This led to our development and launch of carbon impact data reporting for our customers within our product at the company and individual traveler level.
It gives me great pride to share that as a company, we're using our own product innovation to quantify and offset TripActions' environmental impact from all the flights we took in 2019 – a staggering 7,435 flights over 14 million miles that created 2,881 tons of carbon.
To offset this, we are putting nearly $31,000 towards funding a variety of clean energy projects in India. You can learn more about the projects our offsets will support here:
