Engineering Manager - Core Service

We are looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Core Service team based in our Berlin office. 

The Core Service team works the technical services and tools to enable and support other teams and create standard applications. 

This includes authentication, authorisation, profile management, gateway etc.

In partnership with teams across the organization, you will drive the roadmap for TripActions’ development tools, automated testing methods & application frameworks. You will work across a wide array of systems and technologies, supporting teams to build and operate simple, automated, fault-tolerant applications optimized for uptime and maintainability.

 What You’ll Do:

  • Enable product teams to move fast through a focus on tools, libraries and robust testing capabilities.
  • Build quality into every part of software development and deployment. Prevent production regressions by providing development teams with the tools to manage risk and deliver with quality.
  • Create the foundation of the technological standard and research and propose new technologies to be introduced to the TripActions environment. 

What We're Looking For:

  • 5+ years experience building production systems, from the perspective of a SDET, developer, or DevOps engineer.
  • 2+ years of management experience.
  • A passion for enabling fast-moving product development in tandem with world-class application quality and resiliency.
  • Experience with technology infrastructure, system design and programming knowledge in Java, JavaScript, node.js and similar technologies. 
  • Expert knowledge building & testing high availability web applications.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Your job entails communication with executives, engineers, and cross-functional leaders.
  • Experience working with CI/CD systems deploying to production many times a day.
