TripActions Expands Its Global Footprint with Israel Office

Leading cloud-based travel and spend management platform, TripActions, is hiring in Tel Aviv

TEL AVIV, 7 June, 2021 — TripActions, the leading, cloud-based travel and spend management platform, today announced the opening of its new engineering hub in Israel. The new Israeli office supports TripActions’ global expansion plans and will become the company’s base in the Middle East.

“The world is now recognizing the technological epicenter that Israel has become and attending college in Tel Aviv, I know firsthand the quality of the talent pool,” said Ilan Twig, CTO and Co-Founder of TripActions. “At TripActions, we knew that we needed to open a Tel Aviv office for us to stay at the top in the global race for top talent and to employ high-quality engineers that can support the development of TripActions’ core travel product and our newly launched payment and expense product, TripActions Liquid.”

Based in Tel Aviv — one of the world’s burgeoning technology hubs — the office will serve as TripActions’ third Research and Development (R&D) site, to continue driving innovation and teaming with the company’s existing R&D hubs in Palo Alto and Amsterdam.

“We’re investing in Israel with plans for it to become our anchor in the Middle East,” said Twig. “We have a long-term vision for continued expansion; Customer Success and Customer Services roles may additionally join the office, especially in light of our recent launch of TripActions’ Sustainability Suite to support organizations’ efforts to track and reduce carbon emissions.”

The Israel office expansion follows TripActions’ recent $155 million Series E upround funding, led by existing investor Andreessen Horowitz; Addition, founded by Lee Fixel; and investor Elad Gil. Additional investors include Oren Zeev, of Zeev Ventures, and Dovi Frances of Group 11.

“The Israel office will be a technological powerhouse for TripActions. Tel Aviv hosts the exceptional talent necessary to help support TripActions’ growth globally and we have imminent plans to build out six operational teams, for which we are actively hiring,” said Ofer Ben-David, Senior Vice President of Research and Development at TripActions. “By next year, the Israel office should be a complete product and engineering site with roles across all product functions including product management, engineering, design, development and operations, quality assurance, site reliability, security, and more.”

The Israel office joins TripActions offices in Palo Alto, CA; San Francisco, CA; New York City, NY; Seattle, WA; Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; London, England; Amsterdam, Netherlands; and Sydney, Australia.

“Just five years after launch, and in the wake of a global pandemic, TripActions has recorded a valuation of $5 billion, thanks to the world-class technology platform they’ve created,” said Dovi Frances, founder of Group 11, an early investor in TripActions. “Tel Aviv has become such an amazing tech hub and, as TripActions continues to scale, it will be a huge boon that they are present in and tapping into the world’s top talent pools. Plus, it’s fitting for TripActions to have an office in Israel, where the founders have their roots.”
