This Cookies Policy describes the different types of cookies and other tracking technologies that are used by TripActions on our website and web applications. We may change this Policy at any time.

SCOPE

This Cookies Policy supplements the TripActions Privacy Policy and provides an overview of how TripActions uses cookies and similar technologies such as tracking pixels (collectively “Cookies”) and your choices with respect to our use of cookies.

COOKIES

Cookies are pieces of information stored directly on the computer that you are using. We use Cookies on our Website and Services to better understand how people use our websites and ensure that they function properly. There are two basic types of Cookies:

  • Temporary Cookies: These Cookies, also called session Cookies, are temporarily stored on your computer or terminal device during your visit to our website and then deleted.
  • Persistent Cookies: These Cookies remain on your computer for a longer period of time.

Cookies allow us to collect information such as browser type, time spent on the Website, pages visited, language preferences, and other traffic data. We use the information for security purposes, to facilitate navigation, to display information more effectively, and to personalize your experience. We also gather statistical information about use of the Website(s) in order to continually improve their design and functionality, understand how they are used, and assist us with resolving questions regarding them.

We use Cookies on our Website to select which of our advertisements (“ads”) or offers are most likely to appeal to you and display them while you are on our Website. We may also use Cookies or other technologies in online advertising to track responses to our ads.

PIXEL TAGS

Pixel tags (also known as web beacons and clear GIFs) may be used to, among other things, track the actions of users of the Website and Services, measure the success of our marketing campaigns, and compile statistics about usage and response rates.

GOOGLE ANALYTICS

We use Google Analytics, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited ("Google"), a company incorporated and regulated under Irish law (registration number: 368047) with its registered office at Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland ("Google"). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies, to collect and analyze information about use of our Website and Services, and report on activities and trends. This service may also collect information regarding the use of other websites, apps and online resources.

On this website, we use the extension of IP masking ("IP masking"), i.e. your IP address is shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area before being transferred to, and stored in, the USA. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transferred to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The data will be automatically deleted after 14 months.

If you are a Google account holder and have consented to the personalization of advertising ("Ads Personalization") then Google's services also include reports on the effectiveness of our advertising measures (including cross-device reports), demographics and the interests of our users, as well as functions for cross-device delivery of online advertising. In this case, the legal basis for data processing is your consent to Google (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

You can learn about Google’s practices by going to https://www.google.com/policies/privacy, and exercise the opt-out provided by Google by downloading the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, available at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. For more information on the terms of use of Google Analytics, please visit https://www.google.com/analytics/terms/.

GEOLOCATION

When you use certain features of the Services, we may collect certain information like masked/anonymized IP address, device information, or log information to estimate your location (e.g., city or state) and to offer you an improved user experience and provide you with personalized location-based services, such as identifying nearby hotels, airports, or merchants if you have given your prior consent. For Liquid, you have the option to share location information when uploading receipts. Most mobile devices allow you to control or disable the use of location services for applications in device settings menu.

Advertising or Targeting Related

These Cookies allow us to deliver content, including ads relevant to your interests, on our website/services or on third-party sites.

This data, sometimes combined with data about other websites the user has visited and their demographic data (e.g. location, age, etc.), can be analysed and used to build a profile of a user that helps determine what ads the user may be most interested in seeing. Marketing cookies may also track user engagement with the ads ultimately shown. This is in order to avoid unwanted duplicate advertising and to track the amount of times ads result in some form of ad conversion (e.g. an ad being clicked on or an actual sale).

Advertising or Target related Cookies are used by website owners and third parties to collect data about how a user has acted while on a website (e.g. pages they have viewed, links they have clicked on, search terms they have used).

The online advertising industry provides websites from which you may opt out of receiving targeted ads from data partners and other advertising partners that participate in self-regulatory programs. You can access these and learn more about targeted advertising and consumer choice and privacy by visiting the Network Advertising Initiative, the Digital Advertising Alliance, the European Digital Advertising Alliance, and the Digital Advertising Alliance of Canada.

The legal basis for these Cookies is your consent, Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). This consent can be withdrawn at any time by clicking on the link to your Cookie Settings on each of our webpages. The withdrawal of consent shall not affect the lawfulness of any processing based on consent that was provided before consent was withdrawn.
